A great drink for a summer party.

This is my go to when serving drinks at an outdoor party. It's so refreshing, a definite crowd pleaser, and it can be batched.

Death & co • p. 148

1/2 lime
2 oz reposado tequila
0.5 oz grapefruit juice
0.5 oz simple syrup
san pellegrino pompelmo grapefruit soda

You could actually omit the grapefruit juice and simple syrup if you want, the grapefruit soda does the job.

Rim a collins glass with kosher salt. Squeeze the lime into a shaker and drop it in. Add the tequila, grapefruit juice, and simple syrup and short shake with 3 ice cubes. Add thin slice of grapefruit to your collins glass and fill with ice. Strain the shaker into the collins glass and top with grapefruit soda. Voila!

Notes on batching
If you are making this for a group, you have a few options.

Pre-batch: If serving many people at once, add 16 oz tequila, 6 oz lime juice (4 limes), and 2 cans of san pellegrino graprefuit soda into a pitcher, stir and serve in glasses filled with ice.

Quick-mix: If you want to make the drinks one by one, pre-juice about a dozen limes shortly before use. Build the drink directly in the glass, adding 2 oz tequila, 0.75 oz lime juice to a glass filled with ice, and topping off with the grapefruit soda. Add a pinch of salt (optional).
